Nice home for a few days
The vacation apartment was lovely and equipped with everything you need. The absolute highlight was the hot tub, which felt like a dream in the evening. Although the check-in process was a bit complicated, it was very manageable thanks to clear explanations. However, the arrangements beforehand were a bit cumbersome: there was an additional contract that had to be signed and credit card details had to be provided over the phone as a kind of deposit before receiving the door code, which I wasn’t used to.

Spring Break Trip
Overall great location, right by a grocery store, drug store, and plenty of other shopping. Right by 2 bus stops to get to Whistler gondola. The big downside was the pullout bed. It had a pretty poor mattress in it, which after multiple days of snowboarding, it only put our bodies in worse shape. So if you’re not in your 20s any more and value a good night’s sleep, this is not the place for you. Room could use some updating but nice kitchen.

Average whistler condo experience
This apartment isn't bad. Things like the blinds dont really work, the kettle had a dodgy switch and only worked half the time, had to wedge things into the wall sockets with furniture to stop them falling out, knives didn't really cut anything, bits missing from the taps so you aren't really sure which way is hot or cold, and the lift was out of order the whole month.

Oven works well but for some reason only known to god and the engineer than designed it, it has an integrated permanent bright white light that can't be turned off, I'm also unsure why anyone would want 13 chairs in a 2 person apartment, or why the corridor smelled of gas on some days but the fridge was large and clean.

The location is great right next to basically the only food shop in the village, since if you're staying here you're gonna be cooking yourself anyway. Comes with soaps, washing machine and drier which is very convenient.

Could use some shelves or draws instead of all those chairs.

Overall pretty decent for the money in a resort that prides itself on only accommodating the richest people on the planet.

Great Central location
The property was clean, tidy and very well equipped and we were very happy with our stay. The only negative would be that I felt a chest of drawers would have been really useful as there was very little storage.

Market Place Lodge, Whistler
Overall the unit was fine however we had to sweep the floor and dust inside the wardrobes was extreme and we spent time cleaning them out before storing our clothes. The fridge is very noisy and at times, we were waiting for the jet to take off.

Wouldn’t recommend, especially unit 247
This unit was terrible; Murphy bed and hide-a-bed were extremely uncomfortable. The sheets HAD NOT been changed from previous visitors; there was hair in the sheets and they were wrinkly on the first night. Definitely hadn’t been washed. The fridge which is in the same room practically as the beds was VERY noisy and kept us from sleeping. Also the cutlery was dirty in the drawers, some glasses too. The rest was ok, the minimum that’s to be expected. It’s sad because this unit had similar reviews 2 yrs ago, and it’s still exactly how it was described.

Good place if you're on a budget
PROS: The location is simply amazing as it's in the Village and close to all our favourite eateries. Free parking made the decision easy.
The spacious kitchen was also really great, they have practically all the utensils (several types of pots and pans, some pure metal so you don't have to use scratched up Teflon if you don't want to). Good if you're on a budget and don't want to eat out for every meal. It's right beside a huge grocery store, too, which was great.

CONS: The mattress bed in the sofa is thin enough to feel the spring coils. The place wasn't spotless: the phone has sauce smeared on it (only visible when you pick up the phone), the Murphy bed has grime on the board (only visible when you open up the bed) and has a fruit sticker still left on it, the wine glass had lipstick still on it.

The TV is a bit small (it's not big like most other hotels) and they advertise a 1 bedroom place, but it was just a studio with a Murphy (wall fold out) bed, which is a bit cheap.

Great gateway
Very good location in Whistler Village. Suite has comfortable queen size beds, very clean, and quiet at night. Condo is very close to coffee shops, restaurants, Market Place for groceries, and Liquor Store. Many times we booked at this Condo, and we always left with a great impression about it. Definitely I recommend staying here to my friends. Thank you, Whistler Retreats for your dedication on what you do to make visitors happy.

Weirdest experience - Mission Impossible Hotel
Check-in was a nightmare; 30 seconds to get from front entrance to elevator and the press the button to the floor matching my room #. It took me 3 tries because other people got to the elevator 1st. Got to my room and the code does not work. The code worked for the room next to my room. Am I in a movie with Tom Cruise? No where it tells me that the room has no air conditioner and only came with a fan.

Rough but comfortable
The room was comfortable, but the close door wasn't working, and water got all over the bathroom floor after a shower - despite having the curtains closed. The room isn't that up to date. But it was comfortable, slept 2 just fine, and had good wifi. Great location though! Right above some of my favorite shops and restaurants.

Meh
The rental experience was fine, it went without much trouble. Though it’s rather obnoxious that they won’t let you ring in a few minutes before 4. We just happened to show up at 3:50 and found ourselves having to drive around for ten minutes before we could gain elevator access.

My stay at Marketplace Lodge in Whistler
The lodge was fine however initially there were problems with gaining access to my room due to inadequate details supplied to Marketplace lodge. I didn’t receive an email telling me of the procedures to gaining access to the room so after a 15 hour flight and 3 hours on a bus there was nobody answering my phone calls. Eventually after about 4 hours I was contacted and I received the necessary instructions.

Can not recommend
The standard studio is way too small. There is no bedroom, instead there is only a foldaway bed. To set up the bed you have to move the furniture every single time out of the way.
The fan in the bathroom ran all the time, it was not possible to switch it off, very annoying in the night.
Anonymous from Lörrach - Posted: 7/28/2018
Thank-you for your review. The studios are some of our smallest and most affordable units so we clearly show the bed configuration in the photos and description to help guests understand what they are booking. As Whistler weather can be very humid, all properties have humidistats that control the bathroom fans to help keep the humidity levels down. Included with the check-in information we send to each guest are the instructions on how to adjust the humidistat to turn off the fan (when needed).

Clean apartment, well kept. Exactly what we were looking for. The walk to the lifts was a bit more than I hoped it would be, especially when carrying skis. Great having grocery store, liquor store right outside our place. Would stay in again.

Wonderfully convenient location
aside from the brown water that ran from the taps of the washroom (i had seen the plumbing notice so I was able to connect the dots), everything was great. Location was convenient and our suite was quiet. Kitchen was very well equipped which made life with two young kids much easier. Facilities were clean and the beds were comfy.

Nice place for skier, outdoorsman, cyclist....
Was very good, the place was nice but definitely needs some upgrades in the kitchen and bathroom. Hot water in the shower run at a very low volume and thats very important for the ones that we spend all day on the outdoors! you must have that hot water shower at the end of the day.

In a sad state of disrepair...stay away unless you are desperate.
Poorly maintained facility, has not been updated in quite a while. The stairway is a safety hazard with exposed broken and rusted metal edges, shards of metal laying on the steps and landings - should be reported to the health department. Our room was in a similar state with dry rot and stained walls. The cleaning was also sub-par with hairs covering the floors and toilet. Gross. Girl at the front desk was very nice but admittedly jaded to all the complaints. If there was one positive the place was relatively quiet given the proximity to the shopping area.

Great location on edge of Whitsler Village
Awesome location ..... coffee shops right downstairs..... supermarket 60 seconds walk and right on edge of the village pedestrian area.... wander through the shops and restaurants. We biked.... so was just 5 min pedal to the lifts. Myself and son stayed in this unit, so the space worked great. Would be tight if 4 people tried to stay. Couple would be ideal. Looking a little tired in a few areas and remote missing, but certainly no issues and we would stay again.

"Standart" yet great studio
Overall we had a good time in the well equipped studio. Yet the studio can accommodate 4 persons (in theory) it is ideal for two travellers.
Point of improvement:
Better explain the check out procedure (where to leave the key, sheets can stay on or have to removed?, directions to the garbage bins etc)in the information provided in the room.

Romantic Getaway
Whistler is the perfect place for any type of getaway, at any time of the year. This most recent trip was in the summertime to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The weather was perfect. The accommodations were perfect. There are a wide variety of indoor and outdoor activities to choose from. You can be as active or as lazy as you choose! We chose accommodations in the village itself so once we arrived and parked the car we were able to walk everywhere. Anything you need is within a 10-15 minute leisurely stroll. We felt safe even walking around after dark. There were lots of other people doing the same. Very family friendly resort village. You meet people of all ages and from all over the world. It is fun to make a game of guessing where the accent originates from. Whistler is definitely a place to return to time and time again. A great place to unwind.

Great location... and that's it
Very mediocre place overall, but one frustration was that the tub did not drain, so even after a very short shower, I am standing in a pool of water. The water pressure was horrible (making the tub fill slower I suppose). I was in town for Tough Mudder and found it impossible to get clean after given the poor water pressure and poor drainage.

Ok for short term, but not a long-term place
We had a very difficult time getting in to the unit - lots of miscommunication and eventually we had to be let in by some passing Aussies.. also there were two days of no hot water, which we didn't know anything about (how long repairs would take, etc.) and it felt like pulling teeth to get any information, although the operators were nice. Broken table leg in the main room and a bit junky overall, so really just for a week tops if you are getting in to Whistler. No main desk or real people to talk to (unless you count phone).

Overall not great
Not impressed with this property. The shower curtain was dirty and torn. Outlet in the wall was cracked in half. Fireplace made loud noises even when not turned on and kept us up all night. Not kept up. In need of repair/upgrades.
Spend a few extra dollars and get a nice place.
