Disappointed
Uncomfortable, inconvenient check in/out, no receptionist, outdated, overpriced compared to equivalent Airbnb options

Great Studio
Our holiday stay at Whistler Retreats could not have gone better. Excellent communication with Tanya and the team. The accommodation was comfortable with a little deck and views of Blackcombe Mountain. Close to a great selection of shops, bars and restaurants. Would stay at Whistler Retreats again.

Location is good.
This was an older property, it was cleanish but some parts felt pretty dirty. Specifically the condition of the pull out couch. Also there was a closet in the entryway, but aside from that, no storage to put clothing in drawers or anything. The Murphy bed was comfortable but the sound travel from the hallways was pretty loud all night.

Very good
The place was clean, the location is very good, close To market, drugstore, liquor Store, less than 10 min walking to the lift. It is located in the north village, really close To all facilities you need when in Whistler.
The property itself is clean, confortable and we had everything we needed.
I would come back for sure! The only issue is the check in process, i had help of the people who was arriving at the same time, but not a big deal.

We had a nice stay. The place was clean and nice but needs to be updated. The bathroom fan doesn’t work and neither does the dryer.

Ok
Checking is difficult if you get there before the stated time. We had a Murphy bed which was ok but not great. Furniture was a bit out dates. Had an issue with the TV service but it was resolved the next day

Great location, clean but needs some redecorating
Clean and good central location. Tired around the edges. Fridge very loud. Would have been nice to have been warned 're the renovation work going on all around. Drilling and sanding from about 8.30 most mornings.

Weekend in Whistler
I was fine with the room but I am not sure if I would recommend it to my friends as the place definitely needs to be updated, (at least fresh paint, decor).

Great customer service following a slight hiccup on check-in
We had a very pleasant stay; however, here's a general advisory: this place doesn't work quite like a normal hotel. Overall our stay was nice, the accommodations were fine, and the location was great, but the check-in process was a little confusing since they don't have a front desk that is occupied 24/7. Normally, you have to check-in at the management office in a separate building during business hours, but outside of business hours you get an email with a code and list of procedures, which was the case for us. We made our reservation through and shortly afterwards received the email describing that whole check-in process since we were checking-in on a Sunday evening, outside of business hours. It wasn't too convoluted and things would have worked perfectly smoothly but we were accidentally sent to a double-booked room. The manager, Tanya, was extremely helpful in ironing everything out over the phone and the rest of our stay was uneventful.

Good Overall but unit lacked a closet or any drawers to place clothes or other items,
Will have to live out of your suitcase with this unit

unit was clean and well appointed. unit also shows its age and wear and tear. Unpainted spackle patches on the walls for example. more notably the murphy bed and the coach hide away were uncomfortable - likely time for new mattresses. Great location, great parking, great access etc. would do again and hope for a better mattress experience.

$aved it for the Slopes!
A small unit with full kitchen, we spent all day on the slopes and this unit was fine for the two of us to sleep in/eat at night. Tried the hottub once which smelled very chemically even with the open ventilation but was relaxing after skiing all day. Located about a 15-minute walk to the base with equipment on and we always opted to walk for the extra exercise. The unit was clean, especially the bathroom (yay)! There is a drawer in the kitchen which is falling apart and proved annoying and there was a bit of damage on the edges of the walls which aged the unit. The laundry machine smelled a bit funky so we never used it. Management was awesome and always available if we phoned with questions. I wouldn't probably recommend this to a friend as I would next time opt for a closer unit to the base. We saved on price since we expected this to be an older unit and were more concerned with being out on the slopes so this is an adequate unit. Priced a bit high (not unexpected) but it was a better price than we could find through airBnB at the time!

Not worth the price by a long shot
Every time I book a room I get more convinced that Airbnb is the right choice. How can you possibly justify charging more than $500 a night for a place such outdated than any Motel 6 hotel or similar category looks better? This is Whistler. A noisy fireplace. Not even enough money to match lighting bulbs to put one regular and one of those curly energy saver ones. Like the money you charge is not enough. Look around the places in Airbnb and judge yourselves.
Anonymous from Côte-des-Neiges East - Posted: 1/10/2017
We're sorry the guest was unhappy with his stay. Last-minute, one night bookings over sold out and popular weekends usually result in higher nightly rates (even on Airbnb). We'll ensure our maintenance and cleaning teams correct the issues reported.

review of my staying at Marketplace Lodge Studio #245
The room is in very bad conditions, every thing we touched was about to fall apart, we used the washer, when it spin, we have to hold it before it went out of control

I hate this place
Passive aggressive front desk clerk. I didn't feel comfortable signing a blank visa statement when I already paid for the full week and pre authorized 500 upon arrival. I knew something was going to be charged . She told me to leave one key in the room and one return to her even though I said I wanted to return both , she said they require one in the room . Then lo and behold , the day after I leave the fob for the room goes missing when we didn't even use it.

Good Room, Great Rental Company.
The room was great for 2 people, any more would have been cramped. There is no bedroom, just a pull-down couch in the living room. Fireplace was nice, balcony looks right into another building but it's nice to have one. Room felt a bit dated, but was overall clean. The location is down in the marketplace, making grocery shipping convenient, but getting to the slopes not so much (however, the long walk through the village is pretty). Rental company was very helpful, no mistakes were made. Overall a good stay that I would recommend and would make again.

Skiing in whistler
Our accommodation was tired and in need of some tlc but otherwise it was fine - everything was in working order. For 3 adults next time I would get a bigger apartment with a separate bedroom. The pull out sofa bed was not very comfortable for an adult.

Terrible
I travel a lot on business and this was one of the worst places I have stayed at. The room was old and run down. I took pictures to remind myself of it. Beds were very uncomfortable and the bedding was dirty. Kitchen and bathroom are grimy. For the price we paid to stay the is place was unacceptable. Spend some money and fix it up.

Basic.
The place feels uncared for. It was clean, but nobody has really paid attention to it in a long time. The refrigerator is very loud, and isn't leveled, so it rocks back and forth. Burned out light bulbs in the kitchen and bathroom. A hole in the back of the bathroom door. It's functional, however.

Great location, but needs a complete overhaul
First, we couldn't find the "front desk" per say. Drove to two different locations before finding. Room was very dark, needs major updating. Fridge was wobbly and bathroom fan would go on spontaneously. When I mentioned the fan to the receptionist, she informed me that the fan does that because it senses "humidity" in the room, but I think it's a faulty switch and probably a fire hazard.
Anonymous from North Vancouver - Posted: 12/8/2015
Thank-you for your comments. We're sorry it was difficult for you to find our front desk as we included specific directions with your final confirmation email. The bathroom fan was working exactly as it was designed to work. When the relative humidity is high (as when it rains or snows), most bathroom fans in Whistler are tied to a humidistat so they do not turn off with the switch. Adjusting the humidistat will turn off the fan but will mean the humidity level in the suite is higher. We hope you were nevertheless able to enjoy Whistler during your stay.

Quaint, but clean and as expected!
Went up for Tough Mudder weekend so thr prices were higher than normal summer prices. That being said, this unit went on sale for cheaper when searching the Tough Mudder website. Pictures are as described. Nice having a full kitchen. Very small, but functional and clean.

Cozy Studio
Great little studio. Nothing overly fancy but just right for 2 people. Cozy is a good descriptor for this place. Place was clean and everything seemed to work. There is barely a view of the mountain, the only downside.

Great Location, needs an upgrade
Overall, not bad. This is the second time I stayed in this exact unit, like the location, could use upgrades, fireplace didn't work, laundry didn't work properly, the worst change from my stay a couple of years previously, the office was changed from this bldg to one a km away, pita.

Overall, a good experience. We had a minor issue upon arrival, with water backing up into the sink - but after a couple of visits from a friendly engineer, this was resolved.

The fireplace also went out - once it was fixed, and the second time we didn't report the problem as we were warm enough without it.

Two other minor issues (which we worked around, and didn't report at the time). The oven thermostat appears to be faulty... resulting in cooking times being unreliable... but regular checking resolved that...

Secondly, the fridge was unsteady when opened... not a major inconvenience, so again not reported.

Our stay was for 12 days, so we had to purchase various items (dish washer tablets, toilet rolls etc), but this was expected as we have stayed before.

The location is good - a (free) bus ride from the lifts. The hot tub is at the very opposite end of the property, which is a minor frustration.

Checking out, we had to use the lock box as expected, but frustratingly, the lift (one of two near the main entrance) would not work without the keyfob. (I would have reported this... but we only found it whilst leaving).
