Best Whistler Location Best Value
My partner and I have been staying here for almost 20 years. Now my children and grandchildren stay here. It is THE BEST location along with the best room rates.

Great location - accessible to everything Whistler has to offer.
I was pleasantly surprised to find out there is a free shuttle to the base of Whistler just outside Marketplace's doors. In fact you can walk under covered walkways until you land in the covered bus stop. Easy walk to the Village. Close to groceries. Shower was hot and good water pressure - always. Bathroom could have used an update. That is one thing that may keep me from staying again, but all kitchen appliances are new.

Good for our family!
Our family of four came to Whistler to ski.
It was convenient with a kitchen, laundry, bathroom and toilet.
There was a supermarket, a park and a bus stop nearby, so it was easy to use.

Best Location Great Value
We have been staying at these units for close to 20 years. The location is great. We park our car and don't use it until we depart. We are close to all shops, beautiful pedestrian village and of course a bus ride - free - or walk to the lifts.

unit 247 studio FRIDGE NOISE/quiet lawnmowers exist! Changed unit
Upgraded thankfully due to appalling noisy fridge in 247.

Very nice Unit 237 1 bedroom- comfortable bed and nice furnishings.

Overall good, but a bit much having to pay a 500 cad deposit when paid in full in advance.

Stunning Views - Village and Whistler Mountain
The unit faces Olympic Park, Whistler Village and with the night lights, the skating rink children's park it is teeming with life. All amenities of the village are walking distance such as grocery, liquor store, restaurants, shops and lifts. A free bus is available if walking to the lifts is too far. This location can't be beat.

Awful!
Outdated and bland. We kept walking by opened doors near our condo that were very nice. Although in village, it is a very long walk with ski gear to the lifts. Sofa bed broken. Whistler retreats good at bringing extra bedding but it was a very uncomfortable stay for our kids on a broken bed. Overall extreme disappointment at how ridiculously expensive this lame condo was. Also noisy area.

Whistler Retreats - Market Place
The location is prime, just minutes away from the Whistler Gondola and the staff/ management at Whistler retreats are amazing! They really go out of their way to do what they can to accommodate their guests. They met me early to take my luggage, provide strong communication and always wanted to ensure I was enjoying my stay.

If you are looking to be next to the Whistler grocery store, pharmacy, coffee shops and in the village; just minutes away from the Gondola at an affordable rate with parking - then Marketplace Lodge will suit your needs!

Way too noisy - really bad location - would not stay here again
I used to live in Whistler, have worked there since 1996.
Have never had to look up the Whistler Police non-emergency number until my stay at MarketPlace Lodge. Was woken up by a loud group of people in Olympic Square at about 2.15 am on Saturday night (07.24). The noise echoes. I went out on the balcony to call out for the group to be aware of the noise they were making. The group sounding rather intoxicated carried on, either ignored me or didn’t hear.
The day before, the playground became loud at 6.30am and then a yoga class with loudspeakers started up at 8am.
Having chosen a unit facing the parking lot (otherside) would have likely been worst.

Would NOT stay here again!

Great location and value
We love Marketplace Lodge location. This time we rented a unit we had not been in previously and were surprised to find it in excellent shape and great mattress. Also a washer/dryer in unit was a plus. These units are in different states of repair but you can always count on a great location and if your unit is odd numbered a view of the Olympic Plaza and Whistler Blackcomb. We have been coming here many times in the winter for the past 16 years. We now only book Whistler Retreats as they are so responsive to any concerns. A great company and I appreciate their hard work to make it a great stay.

Whistler Stay
Overall good......However the unite could use some upgrades. Some small improvements like paint on the doors, un-cracked bathroom sink, and repairing the washing machine door to close would help. It is also very frustrating to always get an operator rather than a actual agent when calling Whistler retreats. Plus, the call operators are not always helpful and friendly. They just read their scripts.

Excellent unit in the Marketplace
Comfortable unit with a queen bed + pull out couch, kitchen and dining room table. Conveniently located with the drug store, groceries, and liquor store at the doorstep, the only drawback is the walk to the gondola of about 10 minutes that can be easily negated by taking the complimentary shuttle. Would 100% stay at this location again and look forward to future visits!

Good experience
We enjoyed our stay very much. The unit was clean and spacious. We had an issue with the shower, but it was fixed the same day, I appreciate the prompt response. Also, thankfully, we were granted a late check out, as our bus was leaving at 2:00. We planned to ski that morning and needed the place for our luggage, but we got sick, and we appreciated being able to wait for the bus in our room instead of somewhere outside!

237 Marketplace Lodge
The unit was great! We were very happy with it. The one area of concern was the check in experience. We were to arrive Thursday evening 2.14, and due to weather, we did not arrive until Friday 2.15. When we arrived at the condos at approximately 1:30 PM, I used the outside call box to explain we needed to be buzzed into the elevator. The first words from the agent's mouth were "check in is at 4PM" when we had the unite a day ago and arrive late. I called again and same story. Only on the third time did the agent listen to be, understand, and let me in the elevator. With the exception of checkin, the stay was great. Perhaps customer service skills are an order for those who answer your phones

Great Stay
The overall conditions of the property were great. Clean, organized, with everything we needed. The cloth washing machine and drying machine were a great plus. Perfect for the size of my family (2 adults and 2 children) and conveniently located from supermarket, drugstore, liquor store, and places to eat at reasonable price.

Spacious, clean apartment
Room was very clean and tidy and had everything we needed.
The only disadvantage might be the location - playground is just outside of the building, so in the morning it's pretty loud because of the kids, and at night because of the drunk people. :)

Good value for money
Unit was nice and spacious, well furnished with utensils and cutlery if you wished to cook.
Not a big issue but the cabinet drawer and blinds were not working properly.

Location is close to IGA and fast food restaurants, so this is a good place to consider if on a budget.

Do note that it's pretty much the furthest place away from the bike lifts/village center.

Mirren (Whistler Retreats staff) was exceptionally helpful throughout my stay.

Pretty nice apartment that's pretty convenient
I was pretty happy with this apartment. The location was nice and generally quiet. It is about a 8-10 minute walk to the two main gondolas in Whistler village, but not so far as to be troublesome. There was also a frequent bus that ran to the gondolas nearby so the walk was not required.

The condition of the property was all right. There must have been a flood on the floor above in the week leading up to our stay so some workmen were fixing up the hallway walls and there were some areas in the bathroom that had been taped up pending a better fix. The apartment was also very warm (about 25 C) despite our turning off all of the thermostats. The property managers did not know why this was the case and I didn't investigate further.

Everyone was very friendly and while those two issues were a little bit annoying, everything else was clean, well marked, and the access to the mountain couldn't be beat for the price when I searched.

Overall I was happy with our stay.

Fantastic Experience!
I rented a unit for a month and had a fantastic experience. The unit was in great shape and very clean. All of the little things you need were in the unit already and the location was really good, right near the village. The front desk staff were also really great to talk to and more importantly, very attentive and timely when I needed something. Thanks for a great experience!

A good choice on a budget.
I liked pretty much everything - the apertment was large, well maintained and perfectly located for shops and access to the ski lifts. My apartemt faced on to the playground so it was very quiet after 10pm but my friend's apertment looked on to the car park and he said it was very noisy with loud conversations and cars racing around late at night. My only real complaint is the lack of air conditioning. Whistler can get pretty hot in the summer and i found the rooms extremely stuffy at night. Only the use of a fan made it bearable, but only just.

Another successful trip
Met our expectations. Minor inconvenience was very old TV in the bedroom that did not work with the remote. But we weren't there to watch TV so it was fine. Bed comfortable, living area comfortable. Noisy by the playground, but again, not a problem. Fun watching the kids. Property management was awesome! So nice and friendly. Always willing to allow early check-in if room is ready and available.

3 weeks at whistler
My unit looked out on Olympic Plaza, and the pretty fairy lights, and view of Blackcomb mtn, and nice to have a deck to occasionally use when it was warm enough. The grader clearing the paths below my window was an indicator it had snowed overnight, and wasn't an onerous noise to bear. Otherwise, my unit was very quiet, with no noise heard from other units eg: no sliding cupboard doors heard through the ceiling from the unit above. I liked the relaxed but adequate room service, just once a week to replace towels and take away the rubbish. If this keeps the price down, then I'm happy with this level of service. I was also very happy to have an extra friend or 2 stay occasionally on the very comfy sofa bed, at no extra price - very decent. The unit is still quite roomy with 2 people. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils, and the office was very obliging when I asked for a tin opener that was missing. The whole unit is very well planned out. Only 2 mins walk to the big supermarket, so very conveniently placed. A 12 min walk via the village stroll, to the main ski lifts - no problems with that, although its easy to catch a shuttle bus as well. I also enjoyed being closer to lost lake, for Nordic skiing. Fat bike rentals were very close, and the excellent village trails I used alot, with biking and walking. The museum and Library are well worth visiting. Overall, my stay was better than my expectations, affordable, welcoming, and i'll be back again next year - thankyou Whistler Retreats, and I found your reception always friendly and helpful.

Whistler 2015
The market place lodge is a very convenient place to stay due to its location in the village and accessibility to the bus lines. The room is functional but could use a good updating and refreshing. Lots of storage though which is helpful with ski gear. It can be noisy inside and out. The parking garage has extremely narrow parking spaces; mid to full sized vehicles are difficult to park.

Unhappy Patron
The worst possible location we could have had. Our unit was located directly in front of a park where on Sat morning we were woken up to loud music blasting from the park at 0630am for a marathon taking place. When I booked I was never given any warning about the marathon. The loud music lasted all morning so my family got no sleep. Some relaxing vacation!!! All I was offered in return from the hotel manager was 10% off my stay which equates to less than $20...talk about ridiculous. I was expecting a minimum of at least 25% off. I will never book with this company again after doing so for the last 15 years. The 10% off was a slap in the face and extremely insulting to my family and I. I've also made a posting on various travel rating websites regarding my horrible experience.

We thank our guest for their comments and we can appreciate that staying in the heart of Whistler Village over a busy weekend may not have been as quiet or relaxing as our guest had hoped. Unfortunately, the booking was made via a travel agency so they may not have been advised of the weekend's scheduled events. Compensation was offered in good faith and accepted when offered. We were pleased to host this guest twice in the past 4 years (once at this same complex) and we hope that they will choose to return to Whistler. We certainly wish them the best.
