Amazing place to stay in Whistler
There's no better location to stay at in Whistler than here; you have literally everything steps away, including being in the middle of the trails going to all the main sightseeing places.
The room was great, with a very nice amount of space for the bathroom and a balcony. We appreciated communication through WhatsApp for the deposit payment, as it was much better for us than through mail or a call.
Instructions for check-in and check-out were clear, and once you get the fobs from the room, you're good to go on using the Marketplace as you need.

Good pretty simple check in process.

Biggest issues as im sure everyone will ***** and complain aboutthe elevator scenario is awful and the fact that linnens cannot be changed throughout the srtay

Good location
This was a good location with easy access to the village shops, restaurants and grocery store.

I really appreciated the free late checkout.

The room is very basic and quite small and in need of a makeover

Great location and price
The location is superb and price really good. The rooms are small and the accommodation is full of people out boozing. The noise curfew is ignored which does make weekends abit painful.

Extra Fee, complicate access - Bad experience...
The online reservation was easy but to access the room the phone call was complicated to receive the instructions to access the room, the mail, etc., a lot of waste of time. In addition, they charged me an extra 130 dollars because they said that I had booked with Expedia, which was not true, so I had to request my refund by showing them that I had booked through , again a lot of waste of time. For all this, I do not plan to book there again.

Perfect for the slopes!
The location of the room I was in was perfect. A few minutes walk to the gondolas and lifts. Close to a wide range of restaurants and shops for groceries. The room itself was ideal for a solo traveller like myself, or for a couple. The bed was comfy, the room was clean and the balcony was nice to sit out on.

Great price! The bed is confortable and the room was clean! We enjoyed the hot tub.

It was a little bit noisy around and outside the room tho. But still, everything was perfect!

Brit in Whistler
As a Brit staying on my own in this room - the experience was average. I don’t think I could have coped (size wise) with another person in the room. It was quite cramped. How anyone copes in ski-season - I don’t know! In my pre-arrival emails I had been advised to leave dirty dishes on top of the fridge at the end of my stay so I had expected (at least) a sink other than the bathroom sink to wash dishes in. Since there were dish cloths, dish towels, washing up liquid, kitchen roll etc available, I am not quite sure where jthese were all supposed to be used. I had also expected some basic cooking facilities. I would describe the overall impression as being “faded” - in need of modernisation and updating. Having now been to Whistler I suppose I couldn’t expect much more for the price I paid but overall I was disappointed. My son had a British friend staying in Whistler at the same time who paid the same as me at a property that I had considered who had a far nicer overall experience from the size of room, amenities etc point of view. Location was excellent and entry to the property was straightforward.

Horrible Accommodation Experience
This was an awful experience from start to finish, the communication from the rental company was non-existant, we arrived and were unable to locate any place to check-in, turns out there are check in instructions emailed to each guest that we never received. Getting into our room took over an hour, when we finally got in the room was TINY, so much so that the bar fridge was located in the closet due to lack of space. There were cracks in the corners of the walls, barely room to move between the bed and tv, the bathroom tap sprayed water everywhere except in the sink, the bed was awful with a large dip in the middle of the bed, in order to not roll into my partner I had to hang my leg out of the bed and grip the side of the bed for a. The bed was so bad for my husband’s back we left after 1 night. Upon check out the instructions tell you to leave the fobs in your room or you’ll be charged $150/fob but then you can’t get down to the parking lot without your fob. There wasn’t a single person who worked at the properties that we ever saw and there was nowhere to go for assistance. Overall one of the worst accommodation experiences I’ve ever had. Will not go back to Marketplace Lodge again, have already told people to stay away.

The room is listed as a "standard hotel room with queen bed" and the description clearly shows that it is a very small room with limited in-room amenities. Photos are current and show the actual unit so we're not sure what the guest was expecting...

Our stay
A good accommodation unit in a good central location.
Supermarket close by, plenty is shops in the pedestrian precinct.

Having your own parking space was a huge bonus.

The Sunday Farmers Market is worth an hour or two.

Totally okay
It is a good place to stay if you‘re looking for a room in this area. You easily can explore Whistler by foot. The Hotel is automatic so no reception or something. You get annoying 8 mails until you get the door code. The Hotel is a little bit aged and the spa area is just one small hot tub. But the value-for-money rario is okay.

34th Anniversary
Enjoyed our stay thoroughly. 3 nights was just the right amount of time to enjoy Whistler during Canada Day weekend. The room which we rented was perfect for just the two of us. It was so nice how we were able to get our room without seeing anyone. Very well organized. But most of all, it was affordable.
Thank you.

Great stay
The room was simple, didn't have the best view, and doesn't have air conditioning; but it was all we needed,it was extremely close to any amenity we could possibly need, it was close to tons of hiking and excursions, just steps from the olympic village, including all the shops and restaurants. It was also nice and quiet and we liked having a private balcony where we could at least have some views of the village and a tiny bit of a mountain. All in all it was a good stay!

Very Average Room
My husband and I stayed in room 2H7 for what was supposed to be 5 nights on our honeymoon. However, the queen bed was extremely old and sunk into the middle of the bed terribly. Neither of us slept good at all and my husband's back was so sore we had to leave a day early because of it. It is well located but not worth the money we paid to stay (especially considering we didn't end up using our last night). We would not recommend this room unless only for a single night. Lastly, there was a small bit of blood on the sheet when we arrived that we had to clean up.

Very very small room
Room was tiny, I expected it to be a little bit bigger, if I was not traveling alone, I think this would have been a major issue. The tiny fridge froze everything I put into it, regardless of temperature setting, this was inconvenient. Parking spot was occupied when I arrived, but the team got me a new spot right away. Location was great, everything was clean and well managed, but I think I would spend a little extra for a studio for more space next time.

Excellent Location - Everything Close
Bed was good in our room though I understand others arent as great. Towels nice and soft. Fridge freezes all the food and drink so be careful. Hot tub out of service -ask for the key to the one next was closer to our room than our own hot tub. Snow removal began at 4am lasted til 10 am...very disruptive...too early. A small room but all we needed. Could fit a microwave at in the tv stand -that would be great. We would return to that room. We saw a suite, very roomy, too but didnt want to pay that.

Will probably stay here next time, but hopefully in another room
It was a tiny room, but had the best price we could find. There was weird, mismatched furniture most likely purchased from a garage sale in the room. No effort at all from the owner to make it look nice. It was also a bit dirty. There was crumbs, dust, and dirt everywhere. The bed, pillows, and comforter were lumpy, but warm. The view of the village from the big balcony was nice. The staff was very friendly. Great proximity to everything except the lifts, but it is a nice short walk through the village, or a quick shuttle ride away.

It had a bed! Overall odd
I have been to Whistler many times. This was my oddest experience. When I rented this room I was told there was a couch. There was not. I understand the room is only 200 sq ft, but there was not even a chair to sit on. I mentioned this to the people at the office and was only argued with. "it is not big enough for a chair and you should have looked at the pictures online." Check in was funny, our room was 2H7. We went to the 2nd floor and went up and down and no room 2H7, called the office and was told it was a typo and we were in room 217. Well the people in room 217 did not like us trying to get in their room! Called the office again, different person, no it is not a typo, just go look for 2H7! We went to through a few doors through the hallway and finally found it. The fridge, froze our food, no matter how low we set it. When I went to check in they took a carbon copy (yes carbon copy) slide of my credit card. I let them know I was not comfortable with that because my ID has been stolen twice from those and some dude (yep not a gentleman) a dude walked out of the back room and said, "you can pay in cash!" Stood there like a thug and then turned and walked away. Oh, and the bed was terrible. Nice location though.

Beautiful Whistler
The location was excellent right at the base of the lifts - centre of the village. There was nothing about our room that was enjoyable. We were grateful for the balcony as our bags had to live outside. Room exceptionally small. Dirty, tired. Found someone's shoe under bed, evidence of not good prior clean. Shower head bad, like standing under a hose, paint chipped, rusty heaters dented and marked. Overall, apart from the location, really disappointing.

Great location and service, poor unit conditions.
I gave 2H7 a 3 for cleanliness since we weren't sure if the carpet was vacuumed. The bed spread could've also used a good cleaning, as well as, the entire property (hallways, elevator).
However, we love the location of the property so we are willing to book another reservation, just not this particular unit. The property is nearby all of our favorite restaurants. It's also quieter since its away from the bars, nightclubs.
The number one reason we will NOT book this unit is the poor mattress condition. It's old and lumpy and should be replaced. We didn't sleep well at all. I think if we stayed more than 3 nights we would've looked for another place to stay.
The other drawbacks were the very small fridge with no real freezer, no screen door to the balcony, no microwave, and no AC. All of these items made our stay less convenient and less enjoyable.
We come to Whistler about 4 or 5 times a year so we're willing to give a different unit a try. Hopefully the mattress will be in decent condition!

Weekend Stay
Good, clean space, close to everything, secure parking. Room is on the small side, like a small hotel room. Management company open 9am-9pm no problems picking up room entry FOB, parking outside was 30mins- 2hr parking, parking underground for 1 vehicle. Sound proof, although it got very hot, thank you for providing fans.

A small microwave would have just made this the best.

short break in Whsitler
Finding the office to collect our lodge keys was a little challenging. However once we found the place, the check-in service was very good. Location was excellent, however the sign on the 2nd floor mentions a hot tub on the 3rd Floor which was not found. there was a coin laundry but NO hot tub as mentioned in the original ad as well. The bed was missing a head board and shower head requires cleaning. Water was not coming out in a full stream.
2 days in this room was OK, however if i was staying longer i would select a hotel which are available for same price. overall given the price and amenities available at this lodge i believe another place can offer more for the same price.
Anonymous from Richmond - Posted: 6/11/2016
We're sorry you weren't able to locate the hot tub as we would have been pleased to advise you of its location (at the end of the hall, closest to room 301) if you'd contacted us during your stay. We've forwarded your other concerns to our maintenance and housekeeping departments to ensure these issues are resolved. We hope you enjoyed your time in Whistler!

Great Location/Reasonably Priced
I was playing in a Men's golf tournament and just needed a small room to sleep for two nights. The "H" rooms are a second bedroom lock off for the main suites and are very small, but functional for one or two guests. They come with a queen bed, ensuite three pc. bath, good size balcony, fridge, coffee maker, cups, bowls, cutlery, coffee cups etc., t v, iron and board, free wifi, free local and led call and free secure underground parking. Also, elevators are fob secure and doors are a six digit key code. A community hot tub and laundry room.
Located in the Marketplace mall in the north village adjacent to grocery, Starbucks, liquor store and restaurants. Five minute walk to a ski hill.
You get what you pay for and the price was excellent, however, prepare yourself for an older building needing a Reno, but very clean and functional.
I would rate the accommodation as two star.

In need of some serious love.
To be honest I wasn't expecting much, we booked it online for an outrageous price for a whistler accommodation. The lady we met upon check in (tracey) was very lovely and informative. We then got to our room. The fob key entry is fancier than the room form sure. The furniture and decor was so outdated. Bed kind of bowed in the middle. The cuppoard door was no longer on its rails so it kind of just flasps around. Holes and chips in the walls everywhere. It had the worst showerhead I think I've ever used. It was a good price and a great location but this particular room need some serious updates!

Cosy but a bit tired
The room was warm, dry and comfortable but definitely getting older and starting to get a bit run down (rust on the heater units etc.). It was clean and well stocked, just missing items like a few glasses so that you could have a drink of water (there is no kitchen but being able to have a drink from the bathroom tap would be great). The price (early season special) matched the room and I would stay here again as long as I was able to secure a similar price.

Decent room just hard to check in
For bare-bones accommodation the room was fine. Everything you need was there except maybe a table but I don't know where you'd put it. I was not impressed with the check-in process because I had to check in at a totally different place. I left my luggage etc. at the desk at The Chamois as instructed but it was not made clear to me at the time that I wouldn't be staying there. Good thing I didn't just go to Merlin's for a while after skiing thinking that I was home because I had to marshall my belongings and get a cab to the other part of town where my lodging actually was. The clerk nicely suggested I take the bus and I may have to switch buses to get to the Marketplace - a significant pain with luggage and ski equipment. If you can't check people in where they are staying then a shuttle of some kind should be provided. Not cool. Other than that my stay was fine.

2 week stay in market place
Good vacation, was happy with the size of the room, was actually bigger than a studio we rented in cascade lodge once. A studio would of been better so we could cook food, but there wasn't one available. Our flight was delayed so we arrived much later than expected, so we had not arranged out of hours check in, it was quite complicated what we needed to do, after visiting le chamois, then cascade lodge and then the alpines, we used a phone to call someone who gave us the code for the lock box. If we didn't know Whistler and didn't have a car this process would of been a nightmare.

At least it was cheap
Check in was in a completely different location, kind of annoying. The desk agent kept talking about "don't do this, you'll get charged. Extra fee for this and that. " no welcome to whistler, we want to make your stay awesome. Also mandatory deposit plus card imprint didn't make me feel very good. The room itself was a let down. Lots of stains, marks and dents in the walls, dark, dirty corners. No a/c on some of the hottest days of the summer.

Good points- I got it cheap, but still would have expected more at over $100 total per night. Nice to be right in the village too.

Good Deal in a Great Location
The room is nothing special, but it served us very well. The location is excellent and the property managers were very helpful. Free parking too!

Awesome weekend get away!
It was an awesome weekend! We never had to get in a car once! We got off the elevator right at the heart of the Market Place. Shopping, awesome restaurants and lots of cool outdoor activities!

Property Hasn't Been Maintained
We stayed at the Marketplace Lodge and while the location was excellent, I was very unhappy to see the quality of the room. The room was not clean - the toilet was dirty and the sheets had hairs on them. Ew! Learned my lesson to check reviews and definitely won't be back again.
